Web 2.0 Do now 12/15

The quote "You must be the change you wish to see in the world," by Mahatma Gandhi makes me want to help change the world like: volunteering, having a good attitude towards others. In life, there will always be people who don't care about anything, and just live life with a horrible life; however, that doesn't solve anything in fact it just spreads hate around the world. Therefore, my goals in life are to help volunteer in several occasions. This can help change the world because while volunteering people will realize it doesn't hurt to help the world like cleaning up liter, babysitting, or helping senior citizens; not only will it help change the world but it will help get volunteer hours. Also, having a good attitude towards my obstacles will help spread positive things. Most people have a negative attitude which can lead others to think negative. However, my goal is to think positive because it can help change the world by showing others to always be optimistic.

Favorite Restaurant

Location of TGI Friday's on Google map.

   TGI Fridays
TGI Friday's Menu
My favorite restaurant is TGI Fridays which opens at 11:00 am and closes 1:00 am. The nearest one to me is about 28 minutes away; however, you can find the nearest TGI Fridays near you here. They serve a variety of
food like: buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, and loaded potatoes skins which you can order from their signature appetizers. In their Jack Daniel's Grill you can order Jack Daniel's Rib-Eye, orJack Daniel's Ribs & Shrimp, There are more delicious foods which can be found on their website. However, my favorite dish would have to be their Jack Daniel's Burger filled with juicy meat, tomatoes, cheese, bacon, and a secret sauce; also topped with delicious fries.

Jack Daniel's Buger
In 1965, the first TGI Fridays opened in New York at the corner of First Avenue and 63rd Street, and made $1 million dollars in their first year. During the year of 1970 TGI Fridays started to spread to different locations like: Tennessee, Dallas, and New York; to learn more on their history you can click here. This is my favorite restaurant because they have great service, amazing food that will send your taste-buds crazy, and it's a great place to get together with friends and family. Also, TGI Fridays is known for bringing people together. However, if you are still curious about TGI Fridays, you can check their reviews. Also, if it's your birthday they always sing happy birthday to you.

Do Now 12/2

I would add a debate class where students have the chance to debate against one an another. The class would meet everyday to practice and prepare for their debates which will be held every two weeks. The students will be handed a list of topics to choose from to debate about if they support it or don't. They will then have a week to come up with questions and start their debates for their topic. The next week the students will have time to revise and prepare for the debate which is the next week.

It would look like a debate class. It would have chairs surrounding two stands in the middle for the debaters and the stands will have a microphone so everyone can hear will their presenting their thesis. It will be a challenge to some students, but after working hard it will feel great. The students will have an debate which count as a final to show that they have improved on their skills, and will be graded on their questions as well. This will show how the students have learned numerous skill in debate class.

Samsung Simband

Samsung has redesigned its Simband since it was released in May. It's loaded with several new sensors that measure your biometric data like blood flow, EKG levels, heart rate, and skin temperature. This information is gathered and stored  on SAMI (the company's open and cloud-based database.) Although, it was released in May, Samsung unveiled Simband's second generation early this week. The company wants to give it a new look therefore it improved its sensor capabilities and algorithm accuracy. It's sweat proof for users. It allows users to switch to devices to do different tasks.

Wiki

A class that could use Wiki on a regular day basis is biology because biology requires a lot of studying than most classes, and students already struggle with studying. In this class you can create numerous wiki such as; study guides, glossary, or study buddy matching. The study guides will help students study specific parts of the chapter, and while creating study guides it will help them study for different subjects. If you create a glossary it will help define words therefore if you have a test on their meanings you can look back to your wiki and all you will have to do is memorize it. Also, study buddy matching will help students help each other studying for a quiz, or a test.
The benefits of using a wiki in class is to help students either study or learning about a subject. Also, it's a simple project or assignment to do. It will help students learn numerous things about a subject because will researching for information they learn for themselves. We can create a wiki in Web about a new device, or an old device like a computer and how it has improved since it was first made.
My experience with Wiki has been great, it has improved my grades and help me learn about a specific person/subject. However, sometimes it can be hard to work like uploading pictures, or getting kicked off, but overall my experience with Wiki's have been amazing.

Weekend

This weekend I went to the movies with my older sister so we could finally watch Ouija. It felt like years begging for her to make time to watch the movie that everyone has been talking about. Although, the movie started at 7 o'clock she wanted to leave around six to get something eat so once we left the house she drove to Five Guys. It took us about an hour to get our food, and then eat but it was delicious. Once we bought our tickets and sat down we realized we were the only ones at the movie and right before the movie started only two people came in. We were worried that movie was awful, and that was why no one else came to watch the movie but for now it was just four people watching Ouija. After almost an hour and thirty-minutes of the movie we were super happy it was over because we spent twenty two dollars on a horror film that made no sense, and wasn't even scary. However, the movie did create a funny memory between my sister and I.

10/27 Do now

To me; a presentation is where someone presents or regales their audience with several interesting facts or subjects. A presentation should also contain examples of what they are presenting, therefore their audience has a clear understanding. Several ways to engage your audience is by having a strong opening to grab their attention, having a great attitude towards your presentation, showing emotion, and making eye contact with your audience. Also, ask questions during your presentation.

Microsoft has launched new plans for Office users 365, and they say it's designed to meet the needs of business users. It came out Thursday with three plans called, Business Essentials, Office 365 Business and Office 365 Business Premium. In the Microsoft blog post the plans are for businesses with anywhere from one to more than 250 employees. It also replaces the previous Small Business because of their new plan. They simplified the plans by cutting the prices on one of the plans. In addition, they have also tried to have more options for social networking, mobile devices and cloud-based services. Since the release of the Office 365 in 2011, the software has been trying to push business users, to adopt the service as an alternative to the traditional desktop Office suite. Do Now 9/29

An editorial is an article in the newspaper presenting the opinion of a publisher, or editor.

Most of my teachers explained that Wikipedia is a website that shouldn't be trusted because it could give false information. Also they have said that anyone could change the information as long as they have an account. My teachers recommend me to not use Wikipedia because they always mention that it could give false information, and it's not a trusted website to research on. Some of my classmates have asked before if they could use Wikipedia as their last source if they can't find any information, and they said it's alright as long as it's the very last source for information.

After this article my Wikipedia thoughts haven't changed because I agree with my teachers that it's not a trusted website, and that anyone could change the information to false facts. However, I do believe that Wikipedia is a good website if you can't find any information on a topic. In other words, Wikipedia may help you on research, but it's very risky.

Will it bend? iPhone 6 takes a turn for the worse

Before
The Iphone 6 and plus has taken the wrong turn, people have been complaining about their new Iphones that are suppose to be better, and not bendable. Some owners say they can't even keep it in their pockets without damaging it. That's not all they are fed up with their phones that they have taken it to MacRumors Forum. One Iphone 6 Plus user named Hanzoh complained how after 18 hours being roughly in his pocket it bent completely. To prove their point some people have even taken videos of their Iphone 6 bending after being applied with pressure. However, similar problem have occurred before when the Iphone 5s. 4s. and 5 had been released people were complaining about the structure.

Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Posting Sem 2_Pre

Algebra 1

The Algebra 1 teacher is Mr. Olsen who has a child, and adores teaching algebra. He can be very strict with his rules such as the water bottle rule; if you have a water bottle out on your desk he will warn you to put it away. However, if you take it out again and forget to put it away he will give you a detention. Also, he doesn't want anyone to be late to his class because a minute late is a minute of education lost, and if you're late he will give a 15 minute detention. His grading policy is very simple, but very strict as in you must show work on a separate piece of paper so it's neat and organized. He needs to see the work because it proves to him that you did the work, and not copy off of a friend. He will sometimes collect the notebooks that have the do now on, which should be simple because after five minutes class has begun he will go over the do now and answer it. He would grade his quizzes on how many numbers there are on the questions. For example, recently there was a quiz that had 48 questions therefore he counted each one as two points.
In addition, I expect to learn about functions equations, linear system, polynomials, and statics. All of these things I expect to learn during this course is all on Mr. Olsen's schedule for the year which can be found here. However, in class we have learned about the different properties such as commutative, associative, identity, and distributive property. Also, he has taught us the difference between expressions and  equations, and plans to give us a test based on all the things we have learned about in class soon.
Finally, an example of technology used in his class is his ipad which is connected to the projector. He also has us use khan academy - a website that helps understand algebra, and we can go to other levels that progress harder as we go on. The interesting aspects of the class that I enjoy are the projects even though we haven't started any of them yet, hearing from my other peers who have had him they say it's always simple and fun. To add on, Mr, Olsen never gives pop quizzes, and let's you know ahead of time when projects are due or tests are coming up.

Here are examples of what we are about to learn.
